ICT is a popular subject at Pakefield Primary School and has developed enormously over the past year. It is our aim that all children will have access to computers and other ICT technology and will learn how to use them in a variety of ways.
At the school we have 2 computer suites consisting of 22 computers in total. Children also have access to a computer in class. We have 10 interactive whiteboards that are used both by the teacher and children and staff have received training on their use. Children also learn how to use roamers, digital blue cameras, movie maker and digital cameras. ICT is developed and used in all other curriculum areas.
Children begin using ICT in Nursery and develop and extend their knowledge throughout their time at Pakefield Primary (see topics studied below).
Nursery/Foundation
Throughout the year, the children are introduced to a wide variety of ICT equipment. They begin to learn how to use the digital camera, the digital blue camera, remote controlled bugs and the listening station. The children also have computer time each week where they are given the opportunity to use a wide range of programs including dazzle, 2paint, easy art, science fayre, story maker and the internet.
