Physical education is an important part of the curriculum. Research shows that pupils who achieve in P.E at any level tend to achieve better in other areas of the curriculum. Many pupils become more confident and have higher self-esteem. Not only can pupils
· learn about fitness,
· aquire new skills,
· develop a strong sense of fair play
· learn to work as a team
but they begin to evaluate their own performance and make suggestions for improvements.
Pakefield Primary School is a member of the Lowestoft and Beccles School Sport Co-ordinator programme. This provides training for teachers and other adults supporting P.E lessons and clubs, keeping us up to date with the latest developments. It also helps organise the various sports tournaments that run throughout the year.
We pride ourselves on having a well equipped P.E cupboard and we are always looking for ways to develop our resource base. For the second year running we are collecting Tesco For Schools vouchers. Last year we collected over 13000 tokens!
If you still have vouchers tucked away in your purse please hand them in to the office as soon as possible. Thank you for your support in helping stock up our cupboard!
