A warm welcome to the Science page of Pakefield Primary School’s website.
Science is an exciting subject which encourages children to be curious about the world we live in and to carry out investigations and experiments to answer their questions. Science allows children to think creatively to generate ideas and to gain many different practical experiences, as well as to evaluate their findings and draw conclusions.
In Key Stage One and in Key Stage Two children will be taught and encouraged to use good scientific enquiry skills. These include the importance to collect evidence, to think creatively, to investigate and to observe and measure things carefully. Children in each year group will also study topics under the headings of ‘Life Processes and Living Things’, ‘Materials and Their Properties’, ‘and Physical Processes’.
The topics covered in each year group throughout the year are indicated below. Each topic is studied for half a term.
